Windmill

Windmill was made in November 2021. This was a really fun piece to make. It is my biggest piece to date. I was inspired for this piece by the light house. I originally started making a smaller one. Also, with no idea how I was going to make a windmill actually work. So, I just started building away. When I got to the functionality part it all the sudden just came to me to use a fan. I had a bunch sitting around so I figured might as well. Anyway, the first motor I tried ended up failing but I really was determined to make a working windmill. So, I found a different fan. This one happened to be bigger, so I had to make a bigger windmill. Which Iām so happy I did. I love how it turned out. The base is made from HDPE #2 plastic that I melted down. The frame and the roof are all made from metal pieces found in or near waterways. The walls are wine corks. I coated in resin and added a little bit of moss. This piece stands about 20 inches tall and weighs a little over 10 pounds.
