Cabin A Good Time

Avavailable

This piece was made in March of 2022. To date it is my biggest and most detailed piece. I had so much fun making this. I felt like I could go on forever adding details. I honestly wish I could live here. When I first started, I didn't plan for it to be so big. I was thinking a small cabin with a few details and a nice tree outside. You know something simple. Now here we are weighing in at 14.8 lbs, 22” long, 13 1/2” wide and 17” tall. I blame the fishing weights.

Things made with what was found at the river beaches

• Roof was made with broken glass put into resin

• Chimney is made from fishing weights

• Bushes, people, grass in the water are all from a rope

• Fish are lures and hooks

• The rocks around the fire pit are beads from fishing lines

• The sign and the base of the chairs are bottle caps found

• Fishing line is actual fishing line

Everything Else

• Bases. The big bottom one is a cabinet door my friend saved from a job site dumpster. The smaller one is plastic grocery bags I melted together

• Cabin and stairs are made from wine corks

• Dirt is cork dust save from cutting corks

• Door is a piece of metal found in a lake and corks

• Flower pots are tubes given to me

• Flowers are aluminum can pieces, stems are left over plastic from a friends 3D printer

• Outside lights are beads from a broken necklace. Top is part of old ornaments.

• Ladder is made from cocktail straws

• Chair legs are cocktail straws, bases are bottle caps, arms and legs are broken screws and nails. The backs one is an old key and the other is a broken piece of silver ware.

• Fire is made from piece of plastic

• Sign above fire place was from a broken decoration

• Cauldron is part of a tube. It’s hanging from broken nails.

• Bookshelf is made from what looked to be plastic bracer of some sorts. I used cardboard to make the sides.

• Books are cardboard

• The cow is a bunch of pieces of confetti glued together

• Flower vase is a straw filled with wire shavings for the plant

• Curtains, rugs, pillows and blanket I made from random material scraps

• Bed is made from a plastic rake a friend of mine found left on the beach. Bottom is a broken phone case I cut.
