Our Guardian Alien

Our guardian alien was made in April 2022. A very special request that I didn’t realize I needed. It is in full dedication to our wonderful Kimmy. Just as I was missing her and wishing she could see all the neat stuff I’m doing she sent me you Carla. That phone call meant all the world to me.

The dolphins came from Kimmy’s stuff, and I have been saving for years for you. As requested, I used my beloved rope. My rope that I found in the river and have use in 9 pieces to date. The plants are styrofoam balls. The base is plastic I melted down. I think Kim might not be to happy about the pink for the face because it was her least favorite color. But that’s partially why I did it.

I really like how this turned out symbolically. In this piece I feel each one of us is a planet. I think when she misses us and wants to talk to us she just picks us up and does just that. I’ve really enjoyed having this around. It has brought me so much comfort and I hope it will do the same for you. My dear friend I love you always and will forever be grateful for you friendship.
