Let’s Talk Mental Health I started in December 2021 and finished in January 2022. I love that this is the piece to start my new year. I’ve known for a while that I wanted to do a piece around this. I had no idea what the picture was going to be until one morning I woke up with the vision clear as day in my head. I immediately started getting to work. The frame is made from HDPE plastic I melted and formed. The background is made from aluminum cans. The angels have corks for bodies, a bead for a head, fan blades for wings, and arms, trumpet and halo made from rope found in the river. The people are made from the same rope. The headstone is a real rock I found. The flowers a friend found in the dumpster of a storage unit. All of my work of course comes from my heart but this one comes from a very deep special place of my heart. If anyone wants to know about my experiences, I’m more than happy to share. This piece was very mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausting because yes, I cried through most of the process. I cried for myself, and I cried for everyone who is suffering. I cried for all the families and friends. I cried for the whole. All completely worth it. I want to help bring awareness into healing our mental health. There are so many different branches and levels that need understanding. The best place to start is to talk about it. All of it
